Shelby lives in Kenya, is five-years-old, and has cerebral palsy. Since receiving a wheelchair, Shelby’s life has changed. Shelby’s mother, Ann, explains: “Since Shelby has had this chair she is able to sit in a more upright position, her feeding has improved, and she is now able to interact with other children.” Ann explains that other children greatly admire her daughter’s wheelchair:
“They see it as an expensive toy!”
This wheelchair has not only turned around Shelby’s life but her mother’s life as well. Ann no longer has to carry Shelby around on her back, and Shelby can now accompany her to the market when she goes to work. “Shelby loves her wheelchair so much,” adds her excited mother.
