Annual Accomplishments

2012 Accomplishments:

  • 197 applicants got education assistance at a cost of $15952 among them 1 is in MBBS/BDS, 1 is in Nursing/BPharmacy/Physical Therapy, 1 is in MCA, 6 are in MBA, 4 are in BE/TECH, 2 are in BBA/IIIT, 4 are in MSc/MCom, 8 are in MA/Med, 65 are in BSc/BA/BCom/BEd/DEd; 36 of them received 70% and above and 59 of them received 60% and above marks
  • 419 applicants got equipment assistance at a cost of $50001
  • 76 applicants got self-employment assistance at a cost of $17526
  • 60 applicants at PAWNCEP received assistance at a cost of $3200
  • Rehabilitation Camps, Amroha and New Delhi were held at a cost of $10,000
  • Hyderabad Institute of Excellence, Hyderbad received $32000
  • Home for the Mentally Challenged, Pune received $5,000
  • Bharathi Vikalangula Seva Samithi, West Godavari received $5000
  • The average monthly income of their families is reported to be under $50 per month

Since 2001, around 3898 applicants received assistance in India and Uganda; over $669792 was approved. Over 15000 people attended different inclusion and disability awareness seminars/workshops in the USA.

India:

  • 2211 applicants received education assistance at a cost of $240, 072.
  • 724 applicants received equipment assistance at a cost of $75,345.
  • 245 applicants received self-employment assistance at a cost of $169, 820.
  • 72 mentally challenged students at PAWMENCAP were given financial assistance amounting to $5000; 14 students are provided with lodging, boarding and training at Prayatna at a cost of $5000. Previously, PAWMENCAP and Prayatna received $4000 and $25000 to support their programs & building expansion projects.
  • Around 500 individuals received wheelchairs, tricycles, crutches, braces etc. at medical camps held in New Delhi and Tanda, Partnership agreement signed to receive prosthetics hands that will be distributed in developing countries.
  • Aligarh Bacchoon Ka Ghar, Aligarh, received $10,000 and design guidelines to build fully accessible accommodation for orphans with disabilities. Design and access guidelines are provided for another state of the art educational facility being planned in India.

USA:

  • Over 1000 people attended inclusion and disability awareness workshops held in different cities across the USA.
  • “Breaking Attitudinal Barriers” seminar held at Sterling, Virgina brought Interfaith and disability experts to speak about inclusion in houses of worships.
  • Lead assistive technology solution discussion at the “That All May Worship” conference held at Virginia Beach and organized by Faith Inclusion Network.
  • Support group formed in the Dallas areas brought families with kids with special needs together and provided a platform of sharing lessons learned and resources. More awareness events will be hosted with these groups in different cities in the USA.

Uganda:

  • High terrain wheelchairs for 100 people with muscular dystrophy in Uganda funded at $25000.

2011 Accomplishments:

  • 289 applicants got education assistance at a cost of $25558. 3 among them are in MBBS/BDS, 3 are in Nursing/BPharmacy/Physical Therapy, 4 are in MCA, 3 are in MBA, 5 are in BE/TECH, 9 are in BBA/IIIT, 7 are in MSc/MCom, 17 are in MA/Med, 22 are in BSc, and 62 are in BA/BCom/BEd/DEd
  • 88 applicants got equipment assistance at a cost of $6154
  • 18 applicants got self-employment assistance at a cost of $6830
  • 72 applicants at PAWNCEP received assistance at a cost of $5000
  • Rehabilitation Camps, New Delhi and Tanda, were held at a cost of $10,000
  • Home for the Mentally Challenged, Pune received $5,000
  • The average monthly income of their families is reported to be under $50 per month

  • Home for the Mentally Challenged, Pune at an estimated cost of $5,000

USA:

Education and awareness workshops being held in different cities to improve inclusion of people with disabilities, over 500 attended so far

2009 Accomplishments:

  • 346 applicants got education assistance at a cost of $34095. 4 among them are in MBBS/BDS, 4 are in Nursing/BPharmacy/Physical Therapy, 7 are in MCA, 5 are in MBA, 18 are in BE/TECH, 3 are in BBA/IIIT, 3 are in Msc, 1 is in Mcom, 5 are in MA/Med, 52 are in BSc 52 and 102 are in BA/BCom/Bed/Ded. 10 of them secured 90% plus marks, 19 of them got 80% plus, 64 of them got 70% plus & 100 of them got over 60%
  • 439 applicants got equipment assistance at a cost of $18738
  • 15 applicants got self-employment assistance at a cost of $4023
  • The average monthly income of their families is reported to be $44 per month
  • Rehabilitation Camps, New Delhi, Aligarh at an estimated cost of $10,000
  • Home for the Mentally Challenged, Pune at an estimated cost of $5,000

2008 Accomplishments:

  • 536 applicants got education assistance at a cost of $70000. 6 among them are in MBBS, 3 are in Nursing/BPharmacy, 2 are in LLB, 11 are in MCA, 3 are in MBA, 17 are in BE/TECH, 2 are in BBA, 8 are in Msc, 2 are in Mcom, 13 are in MA/Med, 52 are in BSc 52 and 106 are in BA/BCom/Bed. 4 of them secured 90% plus marks, 19 of them got 80% plus, 56 of them got 70% plus & 117 of them got over 60%
  • 7 applicants got equipment assistance at a cost of $1350
  • 23 applicants got self-employment assistance at a cost of $23250
  • The average monthly income of their families is reported to be $44 per month
  • Prayatna, Home for the Mentally Challenged, Pune, received $5,000 to support their programs & building expansion projects
  • Another $10,000 was approved to conduct medical awareness camps across India

2007 Accomplishments:

  • 264 applicants got education assistance at a cost of $25431. 24 among them are in MBA/MCA; 16 in BTech/BE, 15 in MSc/MA/Med, 5 in MBBS, 2 in Nursing, 15 in MSc/Med, 47 in BSc/BCom, 62 in BA/BEd. 9 of them secured 90% plus, 15 got 80% plus, 75 got 70% plus and 140 got 60% plus marks-
  • 3 applicants got equipment assistance at a cost of $309
  • 41 applicants got self-employment assistance at a cost of $19695
  • Prayatna, Home for the Mentally Challenged, Pune, received $10,000 to support their programs & building expansion projects
  • Aligarh Bacchoon Ka Ghar, Aligarh, received $10,000 to build a fully accessible hall for orphans with disabilities
